RECONCILE runs an internships programme for university students specializing in environment and natural resources management, policy and law, gender, poverty reduction and community development and social sciences.

The internship programme aims at equipping students, at different stages of their courses, with meaningful field experience in their relevant discipline. In the past RECONCILE has regularly hosted environment and international development students from McGill University during the summer, providing them with an opportunity to experience development work in East Africa, understand the realities and challenges of underdevelopment, and opportunities for policy and legal action to secure rural livelihoods and the environment

The institute has also hosted students from Minessotta Programme, an initiate that brings college students from Minessotta University and other colleges in America to Kenya to experience development work among others.

Locally, students from Nairobi, Moi, Kabarak and Egerton Universities have benefited from this programme.

The Institute of Women and Gender Studies also refer their students to the organization for internship to explore gender and natural resource management nexus.
